Spam Count

Not sure how many people use gmail, but I have a few accounts that I use from them, and one of my initial goals was to see how long it took me to reach 10,000 spam emails.

Well, I finally surpassed that mark yesterday in my spam folder in my primary email account. Just after 1 day, I am already to 11,000 and my next goal is to reach 100,000 by June 2006.

My point is, why is Google keeping all of this information?

Sure, I understand looking at the email header information to see where they can start to attack spammers, but once they gather that information, why keep it?

I think Google is building another commodity: History of Spam. (gSpam?)

By being able to track Spam and how it evolves, eventually, maybe the Googleminds can create a true anti-spam filter.

Let's hope!

-To your online success!
