There is a phrase called "Blog and Ping" - and in a nutshell it works by allowing a blogger to create one post, but then replicate that same post throughout many blog sites. The effect is that for 1 post you can get upwards to over 200 postings, and then more traffic to your site. While this is a coveted black hat technique, it's also used to game Google's Adsense program. The only good automated feature of blogs IMO, is the ability to create drafts and have them post at a later date. For example, I wrote thsi blog 3 days earlier, but the software posted the blog at the given time frame I established. This helps me appear active by being able to write an entire week's worth of blogs in one day, and then resume my normal activities knowing that the blog will continue to post.
